Pipe Dreams is a 1938 Happy Harmonies short.

Plot[]

The three good monkeys are tempted to smoke some Helz Fire Tobacco. They explore the tobacco shop, a world of match box trains and talking cigars.

Production[]

Walt Disney Productions contracted out the production of three Silly Symphonies shorts - "Merbabies", "Pipe Dreams", and "The Little Bantamweight" - to Harman-Ising Productions. Of the three, Disney only kept one ("Merbabies"), with the other two being sent to MGM, who released them as Happy Harmonies cartoons.

Trivia[]

  • This cartoon shares a similar plot to the 1938 Looney Tunes cartoon Wholly Smoke, as both involve normally good characters trying something dangerous.
  • Rarely shown on TV due to smoking.
  • The cartoon was originally titled "Smoke Dreams" during production in April 1937.[1]
